The Hall of Heroes Museum has opened a new exhibit, “Fighting for the Right to Fight: The African American Experience of World War II,” on loan from the National World War II Museum.
This section examines the achievements and challenges of Blacks at home and abroad that will be available to the public through September 18. It presents artifacts, photographs, and oral histories produced by an international commission. commissioned by the World War II Museum to help advise on the exhibition.
An opening party was held on Saturday.
Visitors can watch an eight-minute video of the 332nd Fighter Group, or as they are commonly known, the Tuskegee Airmen, hearing from the men of their own experience.
A range of speakers is also planned.
Hereos Hall is normally open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday on the grounds of the OC Events & Fairs Center in Costa Mesa.
