Two people died in a fiery crash on 605 in Cerritos – Orange County Register

CERRITOS – A motorist driving the wrong way on Highway 605 hit another driver, killing them both in a fiery crash early Friday morning in Cerritos.

Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the California Highway Patrol said officers were called at 2:21 a.m. to a multi-vehicle collision on South Street 605.

CBS 2 reported that a northbound driver made an illegal turn on the freeway and crashed into a southbound driver.

A CHP spokesman at the scene said one of the victims was a 38-year-old woman.

Both drivers died at the scene.

It was not immediately known if there were other injuries.

The collision closed all southbound lanes of the freeway for several hours.

Kravig said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
