Experience

Eberflus has been the Colts coordinator for four seasons. Before that, he spent six seasons coaching the defenders for the Dallas Cowboys after two years in a similar role with the Cleveland Browns. Eberflus also has 17 years of college coaching experience on his resume at Toledo (1992-2000) and Missouri (2001-08).

You should know

Eberflus placed third in 2018 in the NFL’s Assistant Coach of the Year poll. Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio earned the honor that season when Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale finished as runner-up. This season, Eberflus has overseen a Colts defense that leads the AFC on points (33) while finishing in the league’s top 10 with points allowed (21.5 ppg). The Colts had three defenders named to the original Pro Bowl roster last month – defensive midfielder DeForest Buckner, full-back Darius Leonard and full-back Kenny Moore II.
