In Beijing, Eileen Gu is known as the Snow Queen. Her fresh face and dresses stand out on glossy billboards and advertisements for Louis Vuitton and Tiffany. “I am not used to this nonsense about success,” said Gu’s grandmother, Feng Guozhen, said in an exclusive interview this week with the Bay Area News Team.

Erin Jackson is the first black woman to win a gold medal in speed skating
Erin Jackson won the 500 meters Sunday with a time of 37.04 seconds, giving the US speed skating program its first Beijing Games medal and its first individual medal since 2010.
29-year-old man from Ocala, Florida know this moment is special, her chance to really make an impact for generations to come, AP reported. She will forever be known as the first black woman to win a medal in speed skating at the Winter Olympics – and a gold medal at the time.
“Hopefully this works,” Jackson said after the win. “Hopefully we’ll see more minorities, especially in the United States, get out and try these winter sports.”
