‘Party Palace’ Bear Brand Ranch earns $50 million – Orange County Register

Not a day goes by that retired tech entrepreneur Gary Dinkin isn’t amazed by the unobstructed mountain and ocean views from his 14,500-square-foot hilltop mansion on tall Bear Brand Ranch level of Laguna Niguel.

He can even see Mission San Juan Capistrano from his bedroom.

Said Gary Dinkin, the former CEO and founder of gift card platform SmartClixx, who, with his wife Lindy, helped design the home that just listed for $50 million. First deal report on the Wall Street Journal.

Property records show that Dinkins purchased the more than 13-acre property in 2013 for $2.5 million to build the property. It has six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and ultra-luxury resort-style amenities.

There’s an ocean-view game room that opens to the cinema and has an indoor-outdoor wet bar.

Exterior amenities include a fire pit lounge, a recessed pool with Baja shelving and a glass bridge leading to the 25-person pool fire pit, two vegetable rigs, and a barbecue area with a complete kitchenette .

On the hillside, hundreds of fruit trees, green vegetables of all kinds grow.

Dinkins says the city and Bear Brand Ranch’s watch community originally wanted them to build a Mediterranean-style home. However, the couple – who worked directly with an architectural draftsman, a structural engineer and the cities of Laguna Niguel and (as a courtesy) San Juan Capistrano – went ahead and Real estate construction in contemporary style.

Construction ended in 2017.

Inside, the home boasts seamless limestone floors and oversized Fleetwood windows and doors that blur the line between indoor and outdoor.

One-of-a-kind and artistic design elements fill the space, from the blue Jon Seemans sculpture flanking the porte-cochere sphere pierced by three angular columns to the wide iron and laminated glass pivot door. 18 feet that Lindy Dinkin designed.

“She has won an award for her glass design on the door before,” Gary Dinkin says of his wife proudly. “It’s driven by a single piston so kids can operate it, which is amazing when you consider the weight attached to it.”

The front door opens to a large 27-foot entrance illuminated by 20 giant skylights.

In this house, all the ceilings are high.

“I was very careful with the ceilings to distinguish them in a lot of the rooms,” said Lindy Dinkin, who designed a series of interconnected triangles in the library’s ceiling to represent the library’s immediate family. I said. “My husband is the main triangle, and then I am the smaller triangle in that triangle. And then I connected it to one that represented our two daughters and two dogs. “

There’s a hand-carved male and female lion on the master bedroom’s 10-by-5-foot door, a custom Kyle Bunting-style hidden rug that matches the family room ceiling, and a painting 27,000-piece glass mosaic assembled by Christopher Guy over the stairs.

Rocco Borghese chandeliers grace the entryway and grand dining room.

The dining table, made of green onyx and stainless steel, had already been brought into the house by dozens of men and a crane. But the house-like table has become too big for the empty nesters.

“I know we’re going to be sad to have to go but it’s the two of us and our two golden doodles, and we don’t make too much use of our house,” says Lindy Dinkin. “We created this incredible vision, and we don’t live the lifestyle that someone in this complex should live. This must be a party palace. ”

Josh Altman, Matt Altman and Andy Stavros of Douglas Elliman and John Stanaland of Villa Real Estate are listing agents.
