Orange County reports 1,414 new cases and 60 more deaths, Feb. 9 – Orange County Register

The OC Health Care Agency reported 1,414 new coronavirus cases, bringing the cumulative total since tracking began in the county to 528,794 on Wednesday, Feb.

There were 27,284 new cases reported in the last two-week period through Wednesday. This is down from the 47,099 reported Friday from two weeks earlier.

There were 617 COVID-19 positive patients reported in Orange County hospitals, with 125 having COVID-19 in intensive care units.

The county reported 60 more deaths Wednesday, bringing the virus death toll in Orange County to 6,265.

Data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or collected through case investigations and can take weeks to process. The most recent death recorded was on February 2

Of the 6,265 reported deaths from the virus, 1,243 were residents of skilled nursing facilities, 656 were in assisted living facilities, two were OC prisoners, and 19 were listed. is homeless.

An estimated 454,554 people have recovered from the disease. The number of people who have recovered is based on the previous 28 days of cumulative cases.
