The Orange County men’s basketball team’s top performances last week:
Eric Castillo, La Habra, 5-9, So., G: He scored 32 points with a school record of eight 3-pointers in the Freeway League extra-time win over Fullerton.
Chol Deng, Fairmont Prep, 6-5, Sr., F: Deng scored 23 points in a San Joaquin League win over Pacifica Christian and 24 points in an unwarranted loss to West Ranch.
Ahmad Hammouri, Western, 6-3, Sr., G: Hammouri, MVP of the Orange League last season, averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals in wins over Anaheim and Savanna.
Tyler Weaver, Aliso Niguel, 6-6, Sr., C: He scored 25 points in a Sea View League, lost two points to Orange County’s San Juan Hills team 7 and 24 in a no-nonsense win over the University.
Makaih Williams, Capistrano Valley Christian, 6-1, Sr., G: Williams’ 34 points led the county’s No 3 Eagles to a 75-69 win over Pacifica Christian No 15 in a San Joaquin League game.
