Urgent need for cleaning supplies at Rescue Mission facilities

The Orange County Rescue Mission desperately needs cleaning supplies for formerly homeless people living in their transition facilities in Orange County.

Jim Palmer, president of the nonprofit, said the need was “serious” for the 178 residents at the Village of Hope, Tustin Veterans Outpost and Double R Ranch.

These are the items that Rescue Mission is looking for soap/shampoo, women’s (all sizes) and children’s (all sizes) underwear, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream. , feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent and toilet paper rolls.

The organization said it also needed new double bed sheets, towels and pillows.

Donations can be deposited at the Hope Village at 1 Hope Drive in Tustin. The donation vault is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Irvine-based Anduril Industries has acquired Boston-based startup Dive Technologies, which makes autonomous underwater vehicles or AUVs. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Anduril’s team says the deal will help expand their suite of autonomous systems to the undersea regions, significantly boosting the company’s strategic growth.

Dive Technologies’ main product is called DIVE-LD, an autonomous, multi-mission AUV.

Anduril was founded by Oculus founder Palmer Luckey. Defense contractor is in the process of moving to a large headquarters at the old Los Angeles Times printing facility in Costa Mesa (opposite IKEA).

The company says the Dive Technologies deal is its acquisition in less than a year. In April 2021, it acquired Area-I, and in September, Anduril acquired Copious Imaging. Following a Series D funding round in June, the company reached a valuation of $4.6 billion.

Anduril is also nearby received nearly 1 billion dollars in funding with a special response order from the Ministry of Defense.

Elizabeth “Liz” Jensen is the new chief financial officer of Goodwill of Orange County.

She joined the nonprofit as its longtime chief financial officer prepared to retire. Donald Voska has held the position with Goodwill OC for 22 years.
