Former player of St. Joe’s of Hammonton, JD DiRenzo will return home.

DiRenzo has announced on social media that he will be returning to Garden State once he enters the transfer portal in the final week of 2021.

The 315-pound 6’6″ hit has received a lot of attention from Power 5 schools, such as West Virginia, Maryland, Purdue, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Purdue, Oklahoma, Virginia, Kentucky and Syracuse, but decided to return home, choosing Rutgers.

DiRenzo had three outstanding seasons at Sacred Heart, three times being named an All-Northeast Conference and twice being named an All-American.

The Hammonton-born player has one year remaining to qualify and has played for the Wildcats NJSIAA State Champion teams in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and was a letter-writer for four years while at St. Joe’s.
