If there are so many burgers why can’t there be a quick service salad shop?
That’s where Chop Stop comes in. The salad restaurant is currently operating in Fountain Valley and was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Pro-Tem Mayor Kim Constantine on Tuesday, January 11. Chop Stop opened its first location in 2011. and was named one of the “best 5” Salad string in America” by the food website The Daily Meal.
Customers design their own chopped salads from over 40 fresh toppings, or they can choose one from the menu. Have a lot of Mexico Chop ($10.14) with roasted chicken, black beans, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, tortilla chips, and chipotle cream sauce; a Greek Chop ($9.29) with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, bell peppers, red onions, feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette; Caesar Chop ($10.14) and more choices. Six regular toppings and a sauce are included. Additional overlays start at 85 cents, a clothing extra is 35 cents.
According to its website, “Chop Stop is a fast-growing, low-cost chopped salad concept with nine years of sales history and tremendous regional brand recognition throughout Southern California.” This location is owned by David Eckels and Arthur Bedway.
