Oh, time flies by the years, but where are those flying cars? – Orange County Register

Year 2022! Who will hit it? I never thought I would live to see that day. And if I did, I think it would definitely be like Jetsons, flying cars and all.

Time always passes. And the older we get, the faster it gets. Case in point: I was in the management building recently to inquire about my refrigerator. The kind young man asked, “When do we replace your refrigerator?” I replied, “Oh, at least six months ago. No, I think that was at least a year ago.” Beautiful young man got my file back. “Oh, here it is… .2014.” Sorry!

Where has all the time gone? And why does everything feel like it was just yesterday?

Why does it feel like just yesterday I was parachuting out of a plane and hovering over the cliffs of La Jolla.

And now it’s tough to walk down the sidewalk safely without stepping on those dreaded acorns and finding yourself falling to the ground. Risk of collapse? Heck yes! And chances are that these falls will happen with more frequency as the years go by.

And don’t tell me to get one of Life Alert’s necklaces. I will tell you the same thing I told my nephew. What the hell! I want to get a Harley. But I’d better not do that because I might have an accident running through some of those damn acorns.

Another thing about getting old is that a lot of people outside the Village look very young. Are you sure you’re a real doctor and not just pretending to be a doctor? A firefighter… are you a real firefighter? A real cop?

Of course, I shouldn’t complain about this. I have to stay out of sugar so a little eyedrop won’t hurt me, right?

Flying cars. If I could have a flying car, everything else would be fine with me. It would be nice to have a robot maid like Rosie. I’ve got a cute little dog, Lucy, so Astro can stay put…with the Jetsons.
