Bank robbed in Mission Viejo, suspect released – Orange County Register

An Orange County Sheriff’s Department official said an American Bank on Muirlands Avenue in Mission Viejo was robbed shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.

The suspect, described as a white male about six feet tall, in his 50s or 60s, entered the bank and verbally demanded money, Sgt said. Todd Hylton, spokesman for OCSD.

With no weapon found and no reported injuries, the suspect fled before police arrived.

Hylton said he took an “undisclosed” amount.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
