Hertl’s Natural Hat Trick Hands Flyers Flyer 5th Consecutive Loss

When Flyers and Shark met just over a week ago in the final match of 2021, Tomas Hertl scored the winning goal in extra time. Hertl was also present for Saturday’s game.

This time around, Hertl scored three goals in a row for the Sharks, a natural hat trick that helped the Flyers lose their fifth game in a row, 3-2, at the Wells Fargo Center.

The first stage did not score. While the Flyers led 15-13 on shots over the course of 20 minutes, there was little action on either end.

There were a few more chances for both sides in the second half as play opened up a bit, but the ball remained out of the net for 40 minutes. The Sharks took a 26-25 lead on the third shot.

In the third half, it didn’t take long for the scoring to begin. Only 1:06 in this period, James van Riemsdyk hop on the wings quickly and shoot a defeat Adin’s Hill to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead.

At play of power a few minutes later, van Riemsdyk struck again with a shot from the front of the net in a shot from Orange York make it 2-0. It was York’s first NHL point, making it 2-0 at 6:47.

A minute later, the shark was on the board. Timo Meier scored for Hertl in front of the net to close the gap to one.

With 5:31 left in season three, the Sharks tied it. Again, it was Hertl finding a piece of cloth near the crease and bringing it home, every evening at two o’clock.

In stoppage time, Hertl got on with the business again, finishing two-to-one in just 24 seconds to give the Sharks the win.

Hill made 29 saves in the win. Martin Jones Made 44 saves on 47 missed shots.

Aside from Hertl’s hat trick, Burn Brent complete with assists on all three goals. Meier assisted in the first two goals.
