Heat advisories issued for Southern California this week – Orange County Register

Heat advisories have been issued for Southern California this week, with record high temperatures likely starting Wednesday and lasting through the weekend.

Winds will also be present on Wednesday and Thursday, with speeds up to 45 mph and possibly higher in the mountains, said David Sweet, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Heat advisories cover valleys in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, as well as coastal areas in LA and Orange County.

“The highest temperature expected each day is around 85 to 90 degrees,” Sweet said.

Temperatures in Los Angeles and Orange counties will hit the mid-80s on Wednesday and could hit 88 x Super Bowl Sunday.

Riverfront is expected to stay at 88 degrees on Friday and rise to 91 degrees on Sunday.

Temperatures could drop along the coasts on Friday before they warm again on Saturday, Sweet said.

After the weekend, temperatures will start to drop, with strong winds expected Monday night, according to forecasts.

Anaheim broke Heat record for the city on Sunday, when it also reached the highest temperature in the country.
