Los Angeles and Inglewood officials joined Super Bowl organizers Monday, February 7, to kick off the week’s worth of events leading up to Sunday’s game at SoFi Stadium between LA. Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Rams will be only the second team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl at their home stadium. The Bengals, meanwhile, will head to LA on Tuesday.
“Inglewood is proud to carry the torch of not only the Super Bowl host city but also the shared home of two teams in the NFL,” Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts said Monday at a press conference to celebrate the Super Bowl. at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
He added that the Super Bowl is the first “world-class” event to be held at SoFi Stadium – opening in 2020 – but there will be “many more events to come”.
“SoFi Stadium is now the world’s most heavily advertised venue for sports championships, concerts and other performances, setting the standard for what a premier venue should be. yes,” he said.
“We expect Super Bowl LVI to further enhance Inglewood’s reputation as an organizer of major events.”
He and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti highlighted the economic benefits of hosting the Super Bowl, saying it is expected to generate about $500 million for the LA area.
“It helps local government and services, about $22 million in taxes, about $500 million…will be spent on our hotel, paying our employees, going out to eat at home. shop, go to our bar. Garcetti told reporters after the press conference that this is something that has a multiplier effect.

The Los Angeles Police Chief is expected to begin ramping up deployments on Thursday, Sheriff Michel Moore told the Sheriff’s Commission on Tuesday.
Garcetti said after the news conference that a Super Bowl win in his final year as mayor would be more than welcome, as it would mean the city has won every major sports championship it has won. available for his nine years as mayor.

Fans can get player autographs, take pictures with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and play interactive games. The event will also include sponsor performances and giveaways, a youth soccer clinic, and the NFL Store.
