Golden Globe 2022 winners announced after private ceremony

Hollywood Foreign Press Association Announce the winners of the 2022 Golden Globes on Sunday night, announcing the list on social media after a private ceremony in Beverly Hills.

In terms of Music or Comedy, Hacks won Best Drama Series, while star Jean Smart won Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series and TV Series. Ted LassoJason Sudeikis’s won Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Drama Series. West story won Best Picture and musical star Rachel Zegler took home Best Actress for a Motion Picture Actress. Andrew Garfield won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for his turn Clap, clack… Boom!

In the Drama categories, Heir won the award for Best Drama and The power of the dog won the Best Film award. HeirJeremy Strong’s Jeremy Strong won the Best Actor award for a Drama Series, and PostureMichaela’s Michaela Jaé Rodriguez took home the Best Performance Award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Will Smith won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for his turn King Richard, while Nicole Kidman won Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Lucille Ball in Being a Ricardian.

Other winners include Underground Railroad for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture for Television; Encanto for Cartoon, Best Cartoon; and of Japan Drive my car for Best Picture, Foreign Language.

Last year, it was reported that there were no Black members of the HFPA, and critics accused the organization of several ethical lapses. Amid the controversy, NBC said it would not broadcast the ceremony, and on Thursday, HFPA announced This year’s awards ceremony will be private and not streamed. No celebrities attended the event.

Diversity report that during Sunday’s ceremony, HFPA President Helen Hoehne said the organization will “be upfront about what we’re learning and challenge others to join us with members from more than 50 countries. I have a unique place in the prize universe.”
