Dick Morris Girls Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Corona del Mar on Saturday – Orange County Register

The Dick Morris Girls Memorial Wrestling Tournament will feature more than 330 competitors on Saturday at Corona del Mar School.

Among the wrestlers were Marina seniors Alexandra Lopez and Kaelani Shufeldt, who finished 2nd in the CIF Southern Section Dual Meet team standings. Shufeldt, who wrestles in the 101-pound weight class, is undefeated this season and is a two-time all-American high school student. Lopez, who wrestles at 143 pounds, is also an All-American high school senior.

Morris is a wrestling coach at Corona del Mar and founded the Orange County Wrestling Officials Association. He is also in the California State Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for students and children.

The event will be held in front of a free wrestling clinic provided by former young world champion Victoria Anthony.
