$5,000 reward awarded for information leading to 2014 Huntington Beach murder – Orange County Register
Huntington Beach Police and the nonprofit Orange County Crime Stoppers are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot dead a homeless man more than six years ago, Officials announced Wednesday, January 12.
Tyrrell “T-Rex” Rathburn He was 43 years old when officers found him dead with multiple gunshot wounds in an alleyway near the 200th block of Memphis Avenue on May 10, 2014, a day before his birthday. Detectives investigating the case have interviewed more than 100 people since, but no arrests have been made to date, Huntington Beach Police said in a press release.
Callers told police they heard what sounded like fireworks in the alleyway around 11 p.m. the night Rathburn was killed. He was found the next day near a black beach cruiser bike with blue and white seats and an extension cord on the reel.
Huntington Beach Police are asking anyone with information related to the 2014 killings to call them at 714-375-5066. Tips can also be left anonymously with the Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-847-6227 (855-TIP-OCCS).
