Should California have a one-time payer ?: Letters
Yes to California health care one-time payers
How a person answers this question depends on his worth. I truly believe that every American should have access to the basics needed to sustain life: food, shelter, and medical care. So I definitely think we should have one-time payers in California and the rest of the nation. Yes, I am willing to pay higher taxes to provide people with basic necessities of life. Experts tell us that denying basic care to children and adults can lead to lifelong dependence, leading to huge costs to society. A healthy citizen is usually a productive person. Providing primary health care may cost more, but it is more likely to save money in the long run.

Only if optional
As long as the proposed single-payer system is optional and not funded by income taxes or wages from people who opt out, by all means let California try one. People who want to participate in the government-run health system can have money deducted directly from them. For those who don’t want to participate, they can help contribute to the fund by paying indirectly through excise taxes on snacks and beverages (i.e. anything but produce and drinks). ), and any other products that contribute to a sedentary lifestyle or increase the risk of ending up in the emergency room. Advocates of the single-payer system should be happier putting their money where it is and paying both extra income and excise tax to avoid paying at the point of service for your medical care. surname.

Do not give single-payer care
Another terrible idea from the elected leaders of our state. This idea doesn’t just kill off any free choice for health insurance, i.e. private insurance; Californians will not have the right to a fair trial for their cases because of concerns about violating privacy laws. While the intent is ethical, the actual outcomes are potentially unethical based on the decisions of an unelected panel that determines who gets care and who doesn’t. California shouldn’t want a “Star Chamber” type of health care system.
