Orange County reports 702 new cases and 18 more deaths, Feb. 15 – Orange County Register

The OC Health Care Administration reported 702 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, February 15, bringing the cumulative total since tracing began in the county to 533,499.

There were 14,861 new cases reported in the two-week period as of Tuesday. This is down from the 26,744 reported for the two weeks ended Thursday.

There were 431 COVID-19 positive patients reported in Orange County hospitals, with 77 in intensive care units.

The county reported 18 more deaths Tuesday, bringing the virus death toll in Orange County to 6,376.

Data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or collected through case investigations and can take weeks to process. The most recent death recorded was on February 9.

Of the 6,376 deaths reported from the virus, 1,264 were residents of skilled nursing facilities, 660 were in assisted living facilities, two were OC prisoners, and 19 were listed. is homeless.

An estimated 484,825 people have recovered from the disease. The number of people who have recovered is based on the previous 28 days of cumulative cases.
