Orange County men’s basketball highlights last week, January 17 – Orange County Registry
The Orange County men’s basketball team’s top performances last week:
Zack Davidson, Mater Dei, 6-8, Jr., F: Davidson was the Monarchs’ statistical lead again, scoring 22 points with nine rebounds in Trinity League’s win over Santa Margarita and 14 points with 10 rebounds in a win over East Catholic of Connecticut at the Hoophall Classic in Massachusetts.
Chol Deng, Fairmont Prep, 6-5, Sr., F: He slashed, levitated, and shot his way to 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, number 3 of the Orange County top 25, in a 72-67 win over Capistrano Valley Christian No. San Joaquin League.
Jaeko Java, Anaheim, 5-8, Jr., G: Java set a school record with nine 3-pointers in the Colonists’ 71-42 win over Santa Ana Valley in an Orange League game. Java finished with 27 points.
Miguel Ortega, Garden Grove, Sr., G: In two Golden West League wins for the Argonauts, Ortega scored 19 points against Godinez and 22 against Westminster in extra time.
Tyler Weaver, Aliso Niguel, 6-6, Sr., C: Weaver scored 35 points in a Sea View League win over Dana Hills and 27 points in a disease-free win over Oceanside.
