In 2020, Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival fans have been expecting to see Rage Against the Machine reunites in the desert as the title track for the 21st edition of the music festival with Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.

But a pandemic struck, and about two years later, fans were replaced by veteran boy band Harry Styles, sad pop singers Billie Eilish and Ye (artists formerly known as Kanye West) as the title with the Swedish Mafia, based on a Billboard report on January 12.

Now that Coachella is Coachella, we know that early reports can be misleading (ahem, the Rolling Stones rumours) and things could change even after Goldenvoice announces the official lineup (see: timings). Prince was added as the headliner about 2 weeks before the 2008 festival).

That being said, reactions from Coachella’s sentence on Twitter ranged from Harry Styles fans going crazy over his looks, to getting mad at the lineup. And don’t forget, there’s still a pandemic to think about.

No hard rock band has been announced as a replacement for Rage, the festival’s direction being more pop-oriented for some.

But some people can’t wait to head to the desert for the festival, and for them, April can’t come anytime soon.

And because adding “chella” to their names automatically makes the artists seem more legit, the festival seems to have been quickly rebranded on Twitter after announcing Harry Styles as the frontrunner.

And even with the sky-high fares, it’s Harrychella’s people, so the bank accounts are damned.

Ye fans love their man, but given his unpredictable nature, they won’t believe him playing Coachella until they see it.

But despite their excitement, many fans are still worried about the pandemic when joining the huge crowd.

Coachella 2022 takes place April 15-17 and April 22-24 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, unless the pandemic forces it to be postponed again.
