Crews search for divers reported missing near Huntington Beach oil rig – Orange County Register
Search teams scoured the waters off the coast of Huntington Beach for a diver who was reported missing on Sunday, January 16.
The missing person may be in the area the Elly foundation, an oil processing facility about 5 miles offshore, US Coast Guard officials said in a Tweet. Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Brian Fisk said they were described as a commercial diver.
The Coast Guard asked the LBFD and other local agencies to help them find the divers shortly after 11:30 a.m., Fisk said. Boats and planes are still searching the area as of 1:45pm
