Families from the skating community gathered at the bottom of the lifts to welcome the return of Olympic skaters Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier and singles skater Mariah Bell as they returned home at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana on Monday, February 21, 2022 after competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Fan cheer has been limited during this Winter Olympics as athletes from around the world gather to compete during the pandemic.
But when skaters Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier and singles skater Mariah Bell returned to Orange County from Beijing, their supporters were at John Wayne Airport.
Family, friends and fans greeted the skaters, who practiced at The Rinks and Great Park Ice in Irvine, holding signs and balloons. Knierim and Frazier won silver on the figure skating team.
