Marjorie Taylor Greene reached a critical juncture when she was hounded by a reporter over allegations that she had become a parrot of Kremlin propaganda, an accusation that has been leveled at the Republican in recent weeks following controversial and false statements about the ongoing Russian invasion was raised Ukraine.
“Okay, first of all, this is ridiculous and you need to stop,” the Republican representative from Georgia can be heard saying in a video shared to her own official Twitter account with the caption, “Democrats and their spokespersons in the Fake news media continue to defame me as pro-Putin and pro-Russia”.
Under pressure from the journalist what she has to say to critics who see her commentary on the war in Ukraine linked to her nature one of eight Republicans Voting against suspending trade ties with Russia as a show of sympathy for Russia broke the pace of Georgia’s lawmakers.
“I have no sympathy whatsoever for Putin and Russia,” Ms. Green snapped back.
“So you can take your pro-Putin junk and take it somewhere else.”
Ms Greene has come under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks as she continued to clip her controversial opinions on the Russia-Ukraine conflict into the airwaves, often with divisive comments, some of which have aligned her with the invading army’s disinformation machine .
Last week there was directed at widespread anger on the Republican representative from Georgia when she tweeted that decorated military veteran and former National Security Council official Alexander Vindman was a “clown” for scolding her for comments she made about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
And just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Congress on Thursday, Mrs. Greene rejected his calls for support in a video that echoed typical Russian propaganda tropes, including a line suggesting that “both sides” were responsible for the recent invasion.
In the video, you can also hear Ms. Greene point out that Joe Biden was blackmailed by Russia over his son Hunter Biden’s laptop, a conspiracy the Georgia representative often brings up without prompting.
