In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, add 6 of the lime wedges, the sugar, and the salt. Stir until juice is extracted and sugar and salt have dissolved. Add the gin and ice and shake until chilled, at least 15 seconds. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice and top up with the tonic. Garnish with the remaining two lime wedges to serve.
