woman stabbed to death by man; Man shot dead by another woman on West Side

CHICAGO — A woman was stabbed by a man trying to enter an apartment building when another woman arrived at the scene and shot the man multiple times in Humboldt Park Friday night.

The 33-year-old woman was attempting to enter an apartment building on the 700 block of North Spaulding Avenue at around 8:17 p.m. when a 62-year-old man armed with a knife approached her and began beating her.

A 54-year-old woman arrived at the scene and shot the man multiple times.

The 33-year-old woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a stab wound to her hand and thigh and is in good condition.

The man was also taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and is in critical condition.

The 54-year-old woman was taken in for questioning and police are still investigating.

No other injuries were reported.
