Woman critically injured in accident near Hudsonville

BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) -- A woman was seriously injured in an accident near Hudsonville on Wednesday. It happened around 5:10 p.m. on 48th Avenue near Tyler Oaks Drive in Blendon Township. A driver exited a driveway and did not yield the right-of-way, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said in a release. It said she collided with another car being driven by a 20-year-old Lambertville woman. The first driver, a 32-year-old woman from Hudsonville, was trapped in her car, lawmakers say. She was reportedly freed and then taken to hospital in critical condition. Authorities say the other driver was treated at the scene and then released. The crash is still under investigation.
