After watching his first attempt at a post-slap comeback go up in smoke afterwards emancipation did not go down well with critics or Apple TV subscribers, Will Smith has wisely retired to the bosom of a bankable franchise to restore his reputation.
bad boys for life was both the most reviewed and highest-grossing of the three buddy cop blockbusters, so diving back into a tried-and-true property that, in theory, should bring in big bucks at the box office would always be one of his first ports of call in the wake of the Oscars incident that threw the world shocked.
We’ve seen plenty of people in Hollywood do a lot worse and still survive, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Oscar winner will enjoy an easy ride back to the top. He has apologized multiple times and addressed the infamous Chris Rock situation, but based on his Instagram, Smith may be inspired by a higher power to put his professional affairs in order.
In the eyes of many, it may be too late to settle down, but the easiest way to get the public back on board is to avoid further controversy and deliver some top-notch cinematic adventures to give them renewed anticipation for what’s to come , what’s next. bad boys 4 could very well be that title, although Smith has missed at least a few projects since his career hit rock bottom.
Maybe he could speak to James Gunn and see if there’s a place for Deadshot in the reinvigorated DCU.
