Who’s Hiring Houston: The ABC13 and Workforce Solutions job fair addresses concerns about inflation and recession

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — Amid recession and inflation fears, our ABC13 Who’s Hiring job fair will look at how you’re navigating this time, and you might get a job too.

We partnered with Workforce Solutions to host a virtual job fair where recruiters took calls, messages on social media and online applications to match people with jobs.

If you apply, you could get an interview within a few days. Jobs pay at least $15 an hour, and employers attending the event are motivated to hire quickly.

There are jobs in tax, manufacturing and IT.

Later this month, ABC13 Localish will feature the Katy area.

During the event, we spoke to the head of the Workforce Solutions site in Katy about employment opportunities there. We also received the Economic Development Director for the City of Fulshear.

On Thursday, the latest inflation report showed it rose 0.04% in September and headline inflation for all commodities rose 8.2% yoy.

With the recession looming, we’ve also talked about what you need to know about how this could affect your job search.
