Just a year after being traded to the Rams, quarterback Matthew Stafford was tied for the playoffs.

Leading up to the 2022 national championship game between Georgia and Alabama, Kelly posted a sweet reverse photo of herself and Stafford repping their Bulldog the best.

The couple got married in 2015.
Health challenges
In the spring of 2019, Kelly revealed that she was going to have surgery after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. At the time, she detailed in an Instagram post how her health problems began.
“Over the last year, I started noticing things that I thought were just me getting older.. I would show my girls how to front roll or turn in ballet class and immediately feel dizzy. & off balance… Things I used to say Kelly explains that my whole life is now suddenly hard.
After enduring several bouts of vertigo, Kelly was advised by team doctor Stafford to have a brain MRI.
“A few days later, we received the results. I have a tumor on some of my cranial nerves,” she continued. “All I heard was a brain tumor and they had to have surgery to remove it.. so that’s what we’re going to do and we believe we’ve found the best doctor to do it. there.”
Process, Kelly wrote a touching message to Dr. B. Gregory Thompson, who performed the surgery.
“This is him, the man God chose to remove my brain tumor. After the diagnosis, Matthew and I visited doctors across America. He made a super easy decision after we met Dr Thompson @ U of M hospital,” she wrote. on Instagram in May 2019. “When I talk to him, he reminds me of my dad. He really cares and sympathizes, which means a lot to me. “
In October 2019, Kelly documented her experience in an essay for ESPN, praising Stafford for all he did for her during the difficult ordeal.
“Matthew was incredible the whole process. He was by my side literally every step of the way. I had exercises to do—some of them seemed simple, like shaking my head left and right ‚and Matthew got me through it all,” she recalls.
Kelly later two years of clean sweep in April 2021.
New beginnings
The early days of 2021 brought new changes to the Staffords, whose NFL home ground became Los Angeles after 12 seasons in Detroit. Following news of Stafford’s deal with the Rams, Kelly thanked the Lions fan base, as well as the city of Detroit, in a heartfelt Instagram message.
“This place, our home, the people… it’s hard to find words to explain how much this place means to me. Random tears come so often when I think about not being here.
