BTS recently opened up about the 2022 Grammy during a post-ceremony livestream to thank their fans and celebrate their scintillating achievement.
Tonight (April 3rd PST), the K-pop juggernauts took the stage at the 2022 Grammys with a stunning performance of their 2021 hit “Butter,” for which they received a standing ovation. BTS were also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Butter,” although the award was eventually won by Doja Cat and SZA for “Kiss Me More.”
Following the awards ceremony, the septet hosted a V Live livestream session where they spoke to their fans about the monumental night. “It’s nothing to be sad about,” rapper Suga said of the group’s loss Train Asia. “What we have achieved is amazing. It was a blessing to have the seven of us on stage.”
His latter statement was apparently a reference to the fact that BTS members J-Hope and Jungkook unexpectedly contracted COVID-19 just days before the show. The former had arrived in the US days after his bandmates, while the latter was only released from quarantine a day before their performance.
“We did our best and although some things were too bad, we still left a good performance video,” added Leader RM. “It’s okay, tomorrow everything will feel better.”
After the blockbuster performance, fans of the boy band took to Twitter to trend the hashtag “#YouAreNot7WithUs,” celebrating their performance as a full group and sharing their favorite moments from the ceremony.
Later this week, BTS will begin their four-day Las Vegas residency on April 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th at Allegiant Stadium. All four dates will be broadcast live at the nearby MGM Grand Garden Arena in what is referred to as a “Live Play” event.
