What Paulo Dybala could look like at Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham if Argentina striker leaves Juventus on a free transfer

Signing elite forwards is an expensive business, especially when you’re shopping in the super-premium aisle.

Forwards like Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane will always cost a maximum, but Paulo Dybala has some Premier League clubs licking their lips ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Juventus star faces an uncertain future as his contract with the Italian giants expires at the end of the season.

The player reportedly has no intention of signing a new deal with the club, meaning he will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

As a result, clubs are starting to circle as they eye an almighty bargain for the 28-year-old.

Wages and bonuses will be a costly business but it is not often that a player is available for free in the perceived peak years of his career so it will come as no surprise when clubs put together an offer for the player.

Some others are likely to be interested but Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the Argentina international but how do such football powerhouses fit another star into their ranks?

Fear not, talkSPORT.com has been trying to solve the case…

Where will Dybala play football next season?

Liverpool

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is spoiled for choice in attacking areas and the arrival of Dybala would add to their wealth of talent.

Liverpool’s back line already has the perfect blend of defensive solidity and open creativity, while the midfield trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara provide the perfect foundation to counterattack with speed and tenacity.

On the basis of Mohamed Salah staying as that can of worms needs to remain tightly capped, Klopp could opt to use Luis Diaz and the Egyptian on either flank, with Dybala in attack.

Although the 28-year-old is known as a second striker, he could be the perfect addition to this team, slipping into the role of the false nine that would link him to midfield and allow the wide attackers to run after.

Manchester United

It could be a summer of major changes at Old Trafford, with the club’s top performers looking for a new permanent head coach, and it could also see a new squad.

Paul Pogba is out of contract this summer, as is Edinson Cavani, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is also said to be in doubt as the Portuguese star is unlikely to be left without Champions League football.

This could be the perfect situation to allow Dybala to come in and be the main man.

Flanked by Marcus Rashford and in-form Jadon Sancho, Dybala’s ability to drop deep and intervene while still possessing the crucial eye for goal could make him an ideal candidate for United next season.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte has made it clear he wants to transform the squad this summer but if Dybala joins Tottenham there is only one person he would replace.

Harry Kane was heavily linked with a move from Spurs last summer, with Manchester City reportedly keen, but although the north London side have found their form of late they are underdogs if they finish in the top four, meaning they could face another fight to hold it.

Dybala is a central attacking player and as such wouldn’t fit anywhere else in Conte’s 3-4-3 system, meaning players like Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield and Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski should be safe on the flanks.

If Kane stays, Dybala is unlikely to join Tottenham as he is someone who deserves to be a regular starter, but should the England captain move on, the 28-year-old could be the perfect replacement.
