Wetherspoons customers furious after pub chain drastically changed prices – did you notice the difference?

WETHERSPOONS customers are furious after the chain hiked prices on all of its products.
The One Spoons menu now shows a list of updated prices e.g. B. £4.03 for soup and nachos, which will set you back £5.54.
The new cost has devastated some skint drinkers, and one TikTokker shares her confusion in a video that has since gone viral.
Social media user @brodie_bites_ blasted her experience in Glasgow, saying: “Can someone please explain what on earth happened to the Wetherspoons awards?
“Usually it’s £1.29 for coleslaw, £10.59 for a burger and a drink – what the hell is that?
“£5.27 for a panini and a drink – what’s up?
She went on to denounce the “bizarre” prices and said she “didn’t get it”.
But there’s a simple reason for the unusual pricing at Britain’s favorite bargain chain.
Back in February, The Sun revealed the chain – which has 843 pubs across the UK and Ireland – had hiked beer and food prices by 7.5 percent.
The increase resulted in 29p being slapped on the price of a pint and 75p on meal deals at the chain’s Oxted Inn branch in Surrey when The Sun visited.
Favorite drinks are all up seven per cent, with a pint of Carlsberg up from £2.39 to £2.57, Stella from £3.35 to £3.60 and Leffe from £3.85 to £4.14.
It comes amid rising costs, but price hikes vary from pub to pub.
Nowhere else was this price change more evident than at Spoons’ Moon Under the Water in London’s Leicester Square.
There, beer lovers will fetch a staggering £6.85 for a pint of Belgian Abbey Ale, Leffe Blonde
The pricey outlet near London’s theater district also charges a whopping £6.55 for a pint of San Miguel, Corona and BrewDog IPA.
Following The Sun’s bank-robbing alcohol price discoveries, Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “Wetherspoon has increased food and drink prices by 7.5 per cent.
“We believe that even after the increase, our prices are still very competitive in all locations where we trade.
“Most hospitality companies have had to deal with large price increases in the last year or two.
“We have tried to keep our prices competitive, bearing in mind that inflation has also hurt customers.
“The 7.5 percent increase is less than the inflation rate.”
