A GROUP of sleep experts have discovered that there’s a miracle fruit that might help you fall asleep quickly, and fortunately, it’s a favorite.

Easily found in most supermarkets, the fruit can help maintain a better sleep pattern, which can have significant effects on your physical and mental health.

Experts from BedKingdom.co.uk have explained that snacking on a kiwi or two before bed can really help you get that extra beauty sleep.

said The mirror: “Kiwifruit has been a part of many people’s bedtime routine for many years, and science supports the value of kiwifruit as a sleep aid.

“Studies have shown that kiwifruit can help improve sleep quality, sleep times, and sleep efficiency after a month of regular kiwifruit consumption before bed.”

In fact, the claim was backed up by studiesin particular one published in Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2011.

The experts explained, “Kiwifruit contain high levels of serotonin and antioxidants, as well as vitamins like folic acid and the B vitamin, which may help treat sleep disorders and reset your sleep schedule.”

Other recommendations include not consuming caffeine in the evening, as the stimulant can take “up to 10 hours” to leave your body completely, and exercising in the morning rather than at night.

They continued, “A study by Yamanaka et al. from 2015 found that intense exercise before bed disturbs the body’s natural rhythm and makes it harder to fall asleep.

“This then makes it harder to stick to a sleep schedule and decreases the quality of sleep that is achieved after intense pre-bedtime exercise.

“This study found that rapid eye movement (REM) sleep decreased by 10.5% in people who did intense exercise before bed.

“REM sleep is important because it’s the time when your brain consolidates your memories, transposes things you’ve learned during the day into long-term memory, and is when you dream most vividly.”

This study also found that morning exercises actually improved sleep quality.

dr Guy Meadows, among his other pieces of wisdom, suggested sticking to a routine and sorting out your sleep environment.
