“We’ll get through this”: Lee County Sheriff’s Office shares powerful images

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Friday released striking photos of the destruction in the wake of Hurricane Ian.
The Category 4 storm made landfall near Cayo Costa, Fla., around 3 p.m. Wednesday with winds reaching 150 miles per hour.
On Friday morning, Sheriff Carmine Marceno visited Fort Myers Beach, and the sheriff’s office posted photos to Facebook, including a photo next to deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
One particularly striking photo showed a congressman amidst the damage with an American flag in the background.
WFLA and parent company Nexstar are working with the American Red Cross in Florida to help with the relief effort for those recovering from the devastation, and donations are being accepted from the public.
