Weather in Scotland: The nation basks in the Easter Bank Holiday sunshine and the subtropical hiss of the 21st C

SCOTTEN will need their shades this Easter Bank Holiday weekend before a sub-tropical 21C spring swelter hits the country.
A month of rain finally stops for most from Wednesday.

Blue skies and comfortable sunshine up to 16C are forecast for the long weekend in Scotland.
And the warmer weather will continue in the following days.
After the Easter heat, “impressive warmth” is announced from the end of April.
Hot temperatures of 21C into May are due in Scotland thanks to subtropical air from the south-west.

Warm spring magic has reached 24C in England in recent years in the first half of May, Met Office records show.
A Met Office forecaster said: “With more weather systems bringing scattered showers and rain, drier and brighter interludes are expected across the UK from the end of the week through April 14.”
Ex-BBC and Met Office forecaster John Hammond of Weathertrending said: “Easter should be characterized by dry weather with strong spring sunshine.
“The dry period should last at least until the middle of the month.
“And if high pressure sits over us from late April, an impressive amount of heat will build up, although North Sea winds could confine heat to western parts.”
Last year, Scots basked in temperatures of 20C over the Easter weekend.
But things changed quickly as temperatures dropped and some areas were hit with snow in the days that followed.
