The accident involves a car that won’t slow down at an intersection and a van driving down the main road.

The road markings are worn and not clear at all – so the Merc doesn’t pull away but continues on without noticing the approaching van.

As the white Mercedes crosses the main road, it collides with the van, severely damaging both vehicles.

The video shows the Mercedes in a particularly sad condition after the crash, with the rear almost completely destroyed.

The Highway Code says: “You MUST stop behind the line at an intersection with a ‘Stop’ sign and a solid white line across the road. Wait for a safe gap in traffic before driving.”

In this case, however, it appears that the Mercedes driver was unaware of the need to slow down and stop.

It is also unclear what the cameraman did at the intersection.

The video uploaded to TikTok by @danparking has gone viral on social media, with more than 1.8 million views and 53,200 likes.

However, users are divided after watching the footage.

One said: “For the non-Brits the Merc is coming off a side street so has to pull up at the line and look – and the van is on the main road.”

Another said: “There is no stop sign so the van would be to blame.”

A third pointed out: “Merc’s fault but I don’t see a stop sign and the road markings are almost rubbed away.”

This comes after shocking video surfaced on social media of two cars being involved in a major collision at a T-junction.

Also, CCTV caught the moment a sleepy driver pulled out of an intersection without stopping, causing a serious accident.
