[WATCH] KKR batter Venkatesh Iyer mimics WWE Legend Undertaker’s signature move

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opening batter Venkatesh Iyer was spotted mimicking one of retired WWE wrestler The Undertaker’s signature moves in a video shared by the IPL franchise.

Venkatesh Iyer is a key member of the Kolkata franchise and played a key role in reaching the finals last year. However, he did not start the 2022 IPL confidently. The 27-year-old has been sacked for 16, 10 and 3 in KKR’s three games in the tournament so far.

On Monday, the Kolkata franchise shared a hilarious clip of the cricketer allegedly being irritated by a photographer. He then channels his inner wrestler and “slams” the lensman.

KKR shared the interesting video with the caption:

“@venkatesh.iyer2512 unleashes his inner undertaker!”

Kolkata’s next match at IPL 2022 will be played at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune on April 6 against Mumbai Indians (MI).

“He’ll add another layer of leadership” – KKR coach Brendon McCullum on Pat Cummins joining the team

In some good news for Kolkata, Australian pacesetter Pat Cummins, who joined the squad last week, will be available for selection for the MI match. A satisfied head coach, Brendon McCullum, assured that the presence of Cummins skipper Shreyas Iyer would only help when it came to leadership.

On the franchise’s official website, he said:

“Pretty pleased to have Pat back. He will add another layer of leadership in and around our skipper Shreyas who has also been impressive. We actually have a bit of a headache choosing. We have more people to choose from than not which is a good issue and hopefully we get them right.”

McCullum praised the Australian Test captain, adding:

“He’s one of those guys who fits into this environment so well and is a wonderful person. Huss (David Hussey, mentor) was adamant he wanted some Aussies, I was a bit hesitant of course because there were too many Aussies (laughs) but Pat is an absolute beauty, a wonderful cricketer and a strong leader as well.”

KKR has won two of its first three games in IPL 2022. After beating CSK by six wickets in the opener, they went down to RCB by three wickets. In their most recent encounter against PBKS, they rebounded and recorded a comprehensive six-wicket win. [WATCH] KKR batter Venkatesh Iyer mimics WWE Legend Undertaker’s signature move
