Look: we don’t have any proof that Warner Bros. retain advertising responsibilities regarding Harry Potter Fantastic Beasts franchise for the PR person who has recently pissed off studio execs. But you have to assume that, right?

This in light off a new report from Rolling Stone that the studio is now unofficially getting pretty nervous about the behavior Fantastic Beasts and The Lightning Star Ezra Miller lately. Miller was from the promotional tour for The Secrets of Dumbledore— allegedly because Warner saves hers contractually required promotional appearances for The Lightningcomes out on June 23 – but that hasn’t stopped it from making headlines in recent weeks.

We are of course referring to two incidents in Hawaii where Miller allegedly first harassed bar patrons for singing karaoke –eventually arrested by the local police—and was then by a Couple who say the actor barged into their hotel room and threatened them. The Rolling Stone The report ties this to news that Miller appeared to have had “breakdowns” on the set of The Lightning. “While the insider insists there were no screams or violent outbursts, they described Miller as “lose it.’ ‘Ezra would worry [their] head and say, “I don’t know what I’m doing” says the insider Rolling Stone.”

All of these factors reportedly prompted the studio to hold one March 30 “emergency meeting” where Warner Bros. executives decided to “pause” future development on Miller’s projects. It’s not exactly what you want to do when you’ve identified an actor as one of the main pillars for your troubled superhero franchises, but here’s how.

Rolling Stone also highlights some odd moments from the final years of Miller’s career — most notably the fact that they were sticking to the crossbow from their breakout role We need to talk about Kevin, and frequently offers to show people, and of course the never-Yes, really-explicit incident from 2020 in which Footage showed someone who looked like her choking a woman in a bar in Iceland.
