Warmer, drier weather after weekend’s storm – Orange County Register

Warmer and drier weather is expected to return to Southern California in the coming days after a weekend storm swept across the region on Saturday, forcing a temporary evacuation of parts of San Bernardino County scarred by recent burns.
As a low-pressure system that brought patches of rain to Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino moved east and out of the region, evacuations in areas covered by the Apple and El Dorado fires were lifted early Sunday, as did the Fear of possible mud and debris flows subsided.
Saturday’s storm brought showers across southern California, along with heavy rain, thunder and lightning in parts of the region. But it was a far cry from the storm that swept through the region a month earlier, bringing major flooding that damaged dozens of homes.
The since-overturned evacuation orders issued Saturday focused on Mountain Home Village, Oak Glen, Forest Falls, Angelus Oaks and the northeastern Yucaipa areas. Ultimately, no reports of major flooding or mudslides were reported.
Gradual warming is expected across Southern California in the coming days, with Wednesday forecast to be the hottest day of the week, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to rise into the 70s on the coast and into the 80s further inland.
