Vallejo man, 30, sentenced to lengthy prison sentence for multiple sexual assaults on child – The Vacaville Reporter

A 30-year-old Vallejo man found guilty in October of multiple sex crimes against a child under the age of 14 over a seven-year period was sentenced to 75 years to life plus 69 years in four in Solano County Superior Court on Friday months in state prison.

Vinctonivish Dwane Lee heard Judge Daniel Healy hand out the sentences during a Division 2 hearing at the Vallejo Courthouse, Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said in a news release issued late Friday afternoon.

The jury found Lee guilty on October 21 of having had sex with a minor aged 10 or younger; four counts of serious sexual assault on a minor; rape of a minor under the age of 14; three counts of violent rape; three cases of violent oral copulation; three counts of violent indecency, one count of attempted indecency; and a count of the supply of marijuana to a minor over the age of 14.

In a press statement released after the verdict, Abrams, citing court records, said that Lee was in charge of caring for a young child from 2010 to 2017 and committed “the unthinkable crimes” against her while she lived in Contra Costa and Solano counties.

As a young child, the victim was threatened with disciplinary action if she reported the abuse, Abrams added. As the sexual abuse continued, Lee made the victim’s siblings go to their rooms and shut the door while he sexually assaulted them, she said.

In December 2018, the victim’s mother found her child’s diary, which had documented the abuse. The child came forward between the ages of 8 and 15 and “boldly spoke to law enforcement and bravely testified in court about the abuse she suffered,” Abrams said, adding that the court also presented unspecified “physical findings.” ‘ were submitted confirming the sexual abuse.

At Friday’s hearing, the victim made a “bold statement,” Abrams said.

The district attorney’s office filed a complaint in the case on January 25, 2019. Lee, who has a criminal record, was arrested and taken to the Solano County Jail on $700,000 bail. He was represented by the Solano County Public Defender.

After a preliminary hearing, he faced arraignment on November 7, 2019 and, according to court documents, pleaded not guilty to more than 10 counts of sex crimes against a child.

Retired Vallejo Police Detective Terry Poyser investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Barry Shapiro presided over the prosecution and was assisted by victims’ attorney Shamar Lewis.

Abrams encouraged anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or knows someone who has been a victim of sexual assault to call the DA’s office at 784-6827 or the Family Justice Center at 784-7635.
