University of Houston students protest conservative filmmaker Matt Walsh’s appearance amid ‘What Is a Woman’ documentary screening.

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — A large crowd gathered at the University of Houston to protest a performance by Matt Walsh, a conservative speaker and filmmaker considered controversial.
The students were spotted just outside the university’s student center, where a screening of Walsh’s new documentary, titled What is a Woman, which explores gender ideology, was taking place.
The UH chapter of the Young Conservatives of Texas hosted the event and said they want to provide content and events that people find informative.

However, trans activists argue that the film goes too far and attacks people like her.
“I mean, I think it’s cool. I think people should make their voices heard,” said one student.
UH officials told ABC13 that the speaker was invited to campus by a registered student organization.
The university said its policy neither authorizes nor denies expressive activities based on the content or point of view of the speaker.
After the screening, Walsh partially tweeted: “Hundreds of trans activists and antifa activists turned out for our screening tonight but had no effect at all. We packed the house and had a great event.”
