Dana White takes the criticism of his physical altercation with his wife head on.
The President of UFC spoke to reporters ahead of UFC Vegas 67 on Wednesday and was peppered with questions about the New Year’s Eve incident.
White didn’t hesitate to answer that. He said that “hopefully everyone” saw the viral video of White beating his wife and that there were “no apologies” for his “horrific personal experience.”

“It’s something I have to deal with and live with for the rest of my life,” he said. “There is never an excuse. I’m sure you’ve read some of the same stuff I’ve seen. There’s no defense for that, and people shouldn’t be defending me about this, no matter what. All the criticism I received this week is 100% guaranteed and will be received in the future…

“No one is happy about that. Me neither, but it happened and I have to deal with it. what is my punishment you are my punishment I have to walk around as long as I live, whether it’s 10.4 years or another 25 years and that’s what I’m called now. My other punishment is that I’m sure a lot of people, be they media, fighters, friends, Acquaintances who had respect for me, now have no respect for me… There are a lot of things I have to deal with for the rest of my life that are a far greater punishment than what I’m taking, one 30 days, 60 days absence. This is not punishment for me. The penalty is that I did it and now I have to deal with it.”
White said he had “never laid hands on a woman in my life” prior to this incident, “except for my sister when we tried to kill each other when we were little”.
“I guarantee you it will never happen again,” he said. “No one should defend me. There are no two sides to the story. There is only my side.”

“Hopefully everyone has seen what’s going on with me and hopefully that never happens,” he added. “But at the end of the day we are all human. We all make mistakes. All you can do is try to recover from the mistakes you make in life. Yes, I don’t know. I’m sure it will be decided on a case by case basis. We have a lot of people here who make a lot of mistakes. I’m one of them.”
