FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – On Thursday, TIME announced that local auto dealership Tom Kelley was named one of 48 nominees for the 2023 TIME Dealer of the Year award.
The winner will be selected on January 27th at the 106th Annual National Automobile Dealers Association Show in Dallas, Texas.
TIME’s awards recognize the nation’s most successful auto dealerships who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.
Dealers are nominated by executives from state and city dealer associations across the country.
“The most rewarding aspect of my automotive career is being able to carry on my father’s legacy, and to do so in the dynamic and challenging automotive landscape,” said Kelley.
Kelley started working at Kelley Automotive Group in 1973 before buying his first Buick dealership from his father in 1983.
Now Kelley is President of Kelley Automotive Group and oversees nine dealerships in Fort Wayne and Decatur.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of my wife, Patty, and my family, as well as the dedicated and hard-working employees who have played an integral part in growing our group to the size it is today,” said Kelly.
Aside from the Kelley Automotive Group, Kelley also helped found the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, where he currently serves on the board, and established the Jim Kelley Career Pathway Center to provide learning labs for children.
