Universal employees share four tips for drivers with larger waists looking to race the new Mario Kart augmented reality Dark Ride.
1) Use the test seat
A test seat in a secluded corner near the entrance to the attraction lets riders see if they can fit in Bowser’s Challenge seats. A light on the extendable lap bar glows amber if you don’t fit and green if you do. Your ability to fit in Bowser’s Challenge seats is based on your body measurements.

2) Sit in the back row
The back row of the Mario Kart ride has more legroom than the front row. Height can be just as important to the new ride as weight. Taller, narrow-waisted riders may find that their longer legs will not fit under the Bowser’s Challenge lap bars. The test seat near the entrance replicates the legroom of the front row of the ride.

3) Stretch out your legs
The size of your thighs plays a key role in your ability to ride Bowser’s Challenge. As you stretch your legs, your thighs flatten and the lap bar can be lowered to the required height.
