Theft: The Ring doorbell camera catches a man stealing a Yamaha motorcycle from the Prose Champions Apartments in Northwest Harris County

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — A man was caught on camera stealing a motorcycle from a single father of three at an apartment complex in northwest Harris County, police said.

It happened on Monday September 26th at the Prose Champions gated community on FM 1960 West.

The suspect walks past the camera and a few seconds later with the motorcycle through the hallway.

The victim, Darin, who only asked his first name, is hoping investigators will find the bike and the suspect who stole it, especially since his neighbor’s ring-bell camera captured clear images.

“It sucks because my bike is everything,” he said.

“It doesn’t make sense at this point,” he said. “Everyone works hard for what they have and nothing should be stolen because you think it’s nice when you can work for it yourself.”

His matte black and white Yamaha R6 has been rebuilt and has gold forks and a crash cage.

It was stolen from a man who said he was trying to make it.

“I don’t bother anyone. I am a single father with three children. i do what i have to do I did nothing wrong. I don’t know the person and I don’t want to know them either. All I want my bike back.”

Darin said he wants the person responsible caught and wants his bike returned.

It says the bike has identification marks.

“It’s a dent on my tank and exhaust because my bike skidded. My bike is everything. It’s my stress reliever. I can get away and enjoy myself,” Darin said.
