The SNP’s Stephen Flynn taking down Rishi Sunak’s Stop the Boats policy was brilliantly done

John Plunkett. Updated March 8, 2023
There was only one topic at Wednesday’s PMQs, and that was the government’s new illegal migration policy, which basically means anyone arriving in a small boat will consider their asylum application “inadmissible”.
It has drawn endless criticism from Gary Lineker to the United Nations, with Home Secretary Suella Braverman attempting to justify it with frankly merciful numbers that have Suzanna Reid at GMB basically asking them what planet they are on located.
“On which planet is this likely and why isn’t that inflammatory language?”@susannareid100 grilling @SuellaBraverman to her comments in the House of Commons, in which she claimed: “One hundred million displaced people around the world and probably billions more eager to come here is possible.” pic.twitter.com/fNGCiMMCjW

And just like the GMB moderator’s question to the Home Secretary, this question from Westminster SNP leader Stephen Flynn to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak won out.
Sticking with the full 45 seconds of Flynn’s question (wouldn’t bother too much with Sunak’s answer though).
Stephen Flynn (SNP) – This Tory government said 100 million people could come to our shores… who is his government inspired by… Nigel Farage or Enoch Powell?
Rishi Sunak – What nonsense…#PMQs pic.twitter.com/W2gCM2NAu4

Bravo, Stephen Flynn, who has quickly become a master at this sort of thing since succeeding Ian Blackford. Do you remember that a few weeks ago?
Stephen Flynn, leader of the SNP Westminster, asks PM what “advice he has for people who want to protect their personal finances”.
The prime minister responds to the question by discussing the government’s energy plan
