The Salvation Army is accepting Christmas grant requests

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – The Salvation Army is accepting applications for its Christmas service programs this week. Hours of operation are October 10-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army office at 2901 N. Clinton Street.
Families wishing to receive assistance this holiday season must apply in person at this time and only children’s legal guardians can apply for assistance.
Applications are accepted from households. If more than one family applies for help in the same dwelling, they must apply together.
Take the following information:
Families receiving state support – documents to bring:
Photo ID (head of household/applicant)
Social security card or ITIN card for all household members
Birth certificates for all children under the age of 18 – custody papers are required even if you are not the birth parent
Proof of government support: food stamps, TANF, unemployment, housing, etc.
Clothing sizes for all children aged 0-14 years
Families who do not receive state support – documents to bring:
Photo ID (head of household/applicant)

Birth certificates for all children under the age of 18 – custody papers are required even if you are not the birth parent
Clothing sizes for all children aged 0-14 years
proof of income
Proof of expenses for the entire house – utility bills, rent, phone, transportation, medical care, etc.
