The rising minister leaves the government, citing health problems
The Tory has already said it will leave Parliament at the next election.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, she said: “Some days I feel well, but on others it is difficult, if not impossible, to keep up with the demands of ministerial life – and the timing of such days can never be predicted.”
“Although I have tried to remedy the situation and am sometimes grateful to colleagues for their patience, I do not believe it is right to continue in the role.”
She added that she would use her remaining time in Parliament to focus on her constituency.
It has been a great privilege to serve as Leveling Up Minister, but unfortunately I must take a step back.
